Review: The Everyday Athlete Cookbook: 165 Recipes to Boost Energy, Performance, and Recovery

The Everyday Athlete Cookbook: 165 Recipes to Boost Energy, Performance, and Recovery by America’s Test Kitchen

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

ATK teams up with a dietitian and nutritionist to create a series of recipes for “athletes”, defined in the book as people who do vigorous exercise at least 3 times a week. So far I’ve made the rice crispy protein bars and I love the taste. I usually have one before heading to the gym/pool.

I plan to use the recipes here to continue to improve my nutrition on workout days. I envision myself using the recipes for breakfast, lunch, and snack. Not only are most of the recipes here either single-serving or 2 servings, but I don’t believe my family should be on the same diet I am – that makes no sense to me. So we’ll have “normal” dinners and I’ll use these recipes when it’s just me eating. They look pretty tasty and ATK almost never lets me down so I’m excited to try them.
