Night of the Living Dead Pixels
Check out this great short film made in Blender. It’s a must see!! I can’t say more without ruining the plot.
Flock Blogging now works for me!
Many many thanks to Flock engineers Erwan Loisant, Mike Dosik, and Patricia Bacon. They took time with me over the past few days to get my problem debugged and now categories worked. Here are the details in case you find yourself in my situation.
First of all, once they told me that it worked on Wordpress blogs in general, I was starting to think that it might be a problem on my end. It turns out that it was a problem on my end! After some debugging, Erwan found out that Flock was getting back the message that the pulling of the categories was requiring more than the alloted 8 MB for PHP memory. So I went in and increased that and now it works!

Another example of the perils of DRM
Time and again I’ve warned my readers of the perils of DRM. (Specifically here and here). That’s why I don’t buy music on iTunes and have given all of my digital music patronage to Amazon.com. Even my wife, who’s not as into FOSS and all that as I am, has become disgusted as she’s understood what DRM means for her - regular Jane Consumer.
I’m not the only one who’s made these claims. Yet others say, “you guys are just using that as an excuse to malign DRM. It’s necessary for protecting content from piracy and you just want to pirate stuff.” Oh yeah? Well, are you prepared to give up your rights to expect your paid content to work when you come back to it in the future?
Quote of the Day
Background: I’m feeling a little under the weather, so I’m staying home today. Danielle: “I want you to rest today, ok? I’ll send you a list of chores later.”
