Between the two choices for this week’s trial, I went with Grimrot Slinktail, the Ratling Plaguebringer. I liked his story about collecting others’ trash and using it to build himself up.

Story

15 Jan

I am doing my job as a torturer in the dungeons when I hear the sound of battle. The castle is under siege. The dungeon keeper comes in and tells me to leave the torture behind. I must find the Dark Overlord or the High Mage.

Before I obey, I decide to take a trophy. It has served me well to grab that which others throw away. I find a vial of Dragon’s Fire.

16 Jan

As I get to the dungeon entrance I see a group of goblins being swarmed by warriors. I contemplate helping them, but figure it’ll be better if I find the Dark Overlord or High Mage.

I slip through unnoticed. (+1 bonus non-combat roles on this day)

I decide that I will take a slightly longer path around to the stairs, hoping it will have less enemies. I head to the booby-trapped hallway.

I find the hidden trigger mechanism to turn off the traps and proceed without issues.

I enter the castle kitchen and there is flaming oil all over the floor. I slide across the slight floor and knock a pot of flaming oil into an enemy.

From there I head to the stairs up.

17 Jan

As I go up I find Durnir Mossbeard, one of the legendary heroes here. He is causing vines to lash out at my allies.

I lash out with a quick strike to stagger. I cause Durnir back and disrupt his focus. I slip away form his next attack.

He regains his composure and vines coil around my legs and arms. They tighten painfully, forcing me to struggle free (-1 HP)

I try to time the next attack. I move too slowly and get thrown into a pile of debris.

He unleashes druidic energy against me. I grit my teeth and power through.

I bluff and get him distracted with a fake threat.

I try to analyzie the vines, terrain, and his attack patterns and I find a blind spot to escape his attack cleanly.

I try to once again distract him, but he has learned not to trust me and he lashes out at me with vines. I manage to flee (-1 HP)
