Advent 2024 Dice Days 20-22

Let’s take a look at the latest die or dice from the Dice Envy Advent Calendar.

The advent calendar is mostly at the point where I’m filling out the glittery dice set. But there was a big surprise on day 21!

Day 20

Day 20 was the percentile dice for the glittery dice set. As I look at the set in person while writing this blog post, it once again strikes me how differently this die photographs. It is a very yellowy green in real life. But it photographs as such a deep green. The green plus glitter makes it seem like a great set for Christmas. In real life it’s still pretty, but less Christmasy.

Day 21

SURPRISE! My son had done the math and figured out that every day from 20 on needed to be from the glittery set if I was going to end up with a full Dice Envy Set. (7 standard dice, infinity d4, chonky d20, and lion d6) Yet day 21 had these pretty d12s. I aboslutely love the pink one. It screens 1980s to me! The aqua one is also pretty. My son took a look at this and predicted each following day would contain doubles in order to get a full glittery set. But…

Day 22

We only got one d20 for Day 22. It’s a nice d20, but I’m very curious now about whether I’m going to end up with a full Dice Envy set by the end of the calendar. Also, I’ll take the box apart when I’m done. I know in a previous year someone complained that some dice were missing and had fallen into the box.
