I’m suddenly reminded of Neon Genesis Evangelion. It’s been written that the water droplet on an all-black background symbolizes the transition from true reality to a dream state and vice versa. Naturally this ties in with the White House.
“How so?” I hear you all asking — nay, demanding. It’s simple, really. Back in 2008 “Hope” was the word. We all believed in the American Dream and the American President taking us there. In 2011 we know this really was all a dream. How could this ridiculousness not be, right? Birthers? Sarah Palin? Michelle Bachman? NEWT GINGRINCH, WASHINGTON OUTSIDER?! It’s got to be a dream, right?
“I mustn’t run away. I mustn’t run away. I mustn’t run away.”

“I mustn’t run away. I mustn’t run away. I mustn’t run away.”
Is that a japanese thing or more universal?
Not sure, but I know they use it a lot in anime.
