  • Hear your IP Address Moaned to You?

WTF is this world coming to? From the digg “horny nerd” files, comes this website: http://www.moanmyip.com/. Interesting things I learned on this site are how web servers and websites see me. Here’s what it says it thinks it knows about me: YOUR OPERATING SYSTEM AND BROWSER Linux / Safari YOUR USER AGENT INFORMATION Mozilla/5.0 (compatible;…

  • mytoons.com is pretty awesome!

What makes mytoons.com so awesome is the fact that they truly do care about their users. Due to what I wrote about my experiences with my “Shrodinger’s Cat” video on their site, I’ve had their lead web support guy email me and we’re actively working on the problem right now. That and getting the comment…

  • mytoons.com annoyances

    1) It does not seem to support HD aspect ratio (widescreen) videos while Vimeo does. 2) “Shrodinger’s Cat” is not any higher quality than on Vimeo. So far there aren’t too many views, but there hasn’t been a lot of time for people to see my videos just yet.

  • Mytoons.com

So, I have all of my videos on Vimeo.com. I like them better than youtube because of their focus. Vimeo is very community oriented and they put a huge emphasis on original content. Vimeo is where I go to see new, neat videos like the stuff that Remmy is doing. Youtube is where I go…

  • If God was a Programmer

This joke’s been around the nets for a while, but here’s a new and novel presentation.

  • Why Linux is better than Windows Vista

I was recently in a hotel room with my wife and her brother and sister. We both have the exact same acer computer – the Acer Aspire 3680-2022. I have Ubuntu on mine and he has Windows Vista. We bought them both at the same time. So this is IDENTICAL equipment. And in the hotel…

  • Vimeo Version 5

is out! The good news is that it looks slicker. That bad news is that I no have no idea where the heck anything is! Check my stuff out at: http://www.vimeo.com/djotaku/videos

  • Pidgin Arrives in Fedora

I thought I’d have to wait for Fedora 7 to experience Pidgin (what gaim got renamed to due to their legal battles with AOL – as I previously blogged), but they provided it for Fedora Core 6. The interface has changed a little. Here are some screenshots showing my first impressions on the differences: The…

  • Scott Adams once again was playing philosopher the other day and tackled a pretty important topic: fairness. Imagine trying to “fairly” divide ten identical marbles between two kids. You could give five marbles to each kid, wave your arms and declare it fair. The kids would probably agree with this arrangement. The illusion of fairness…

  • Bizzarre Stats

I don’t know wtf is going on with Google, but according to my web stats, 66 of you came here looking for info on anime conventions (this month alone). I’ve never talked much about them except to put up a picture of someone from an anime convention. It was this one or two: Apparently there…

  • An amazing Lego Church!

Check it out! Someone recreated a church with legos and it is very accurate.

  • Andrew’s comments on Imus (and my response)

Andrew’s post on Imus and his firing prompted a response from me. I decided that since I hold a dim view that other sites may exist in the future, that I will post select bits from his post and my full response. By clicking on that link you can see his whole post and my…

  • The Science Fiction Jargon File

Most of you tech readers have heard of The Jargon File in which esr maintains the best of geek jargon and the lore behind their etymologies. What most people didn’t know is that esr also maintains a science fiction jargon file. It’s not as funny as The Jargon File or as comprehensive, but it’s pretty…
