My wife gave me the idea to have some budgies star in my next short, my first true short after understanding everything I learned from “Penguin Flight” and “Hello World“. So I started work on modeling them last night around 2200.
At first I figured it would be very hard and was getting quite discouraged. But then, I figured out a shape that seems to approximate the bird enough for a cartoon. After all, I’m not making a scientific textbook or something. I still have things to add (such as eyes) and texttured materials, but I think I’ve made some amazing progress.

Wow, so far so good. It actually looks a like like a budgie. Maybe you can make it’s head a bit bigger and the neck not too long b/c it also kinda looks like a pigeon. But overall good job. I can’t wait to see the final project.
I couldn’t think of any better compliment than for you to say it actually looks like one! I know the neck is a little too long – not sure if I’ll be able to fix it easily. I put this up last night so you could see it at work. q:o)
